MEMBERSHIP

The America’s Tilapia Alliance (ATA) was formed in the Fall of 2013 to replace the American Tilapia Association. The new ATA has many of the same goals and fundamentals as the old Association, but as we enter a new era of tilapia aquaculture around the world, the ATA must have an expanded focus for tilapia. We believe it is time for the ATA to begin supporting the tilapia industry as a whole from growth to processing, feed, equipment, distribution and consumption as well as grow out farms. For us to be successful individually, we should unify to help connect the entire industry.

Membership is open to companies, individuals and groups around the world. Memberships are annual from January through December. Memberships paid in the fourth quarter of any calendar year result in membership for the next succeeding calendar year.

There are four classes of members: Supporter, Active, Sustaining and Group. Supporter members are members who are corporate or individual donors who pay annual dues of at least Five Hundred Dollars (US$500) per calendar year, each of whom is entitled to one vote at meetings of members and who are eligible to being elected as Directors of ATA. Active members are members who are individuals who pay annual dues of One Hundred Dollars (US$100) per calendar year, and who also are entitled to one vote at meetings of members and who are eligible to being elected as Directors of ATA. Sustaining members are members who are individuals who pay annual dues of Twenty Five Dollars (US$25) and who are non voting members and who are not eligible to become Directors of ATA. Group members are groups or organizations which wish to keep up with the tilapia industry who pay annual dues of One Hundred Dollars (US$100) and who are non voting members and who are not eligible to become Directors of ATA.
